DEVLOG #9

I received a lot of requests on Tiktok to add a girl character.

at first, I wasn’t going to do it because I’d have to go back and change a lot
of characters, but I decided to just add it, since there’s a chance this is the last game I ever make, so why not make it as good as possible.

You’ll actually still encounter the boy version in the world if you choose to be girl, and vice versa if you choose to be a boy.

I also officially added Xbox controller support!
I had to create a separate software to run with paradoxo to allow it, since the original game is made in actionscript2 (which doesn’t allow xbox controller support)

I tried to do the same thing with playstation but ran into some issues, so I’ll delay that for now.

You can now DASH and JUMP-DASH !!

I really love this mechanic, it makes moving around the world way more fun,

the gun mode will allow even more chance to show your mechanics too!

I just don’t know if I want to make dashing something you instantly have when the game starts, or if I should make it an unlock-able through level, or if I should make it a purchasable skill (with in-game currency).

There is now an indicator that shows when you failed a quest, which means I also programmed quests to automatically get removed from your quest menu if you fail or succeed, and you can now get XP from quests too.

And the last change of the week! I added permanent NPC deaths, which means if someone in your party dies, they’ll be permanently dead in the game, in order to add more immersion to the story.

Don’t worry though, it’s completely optional if you don’t like that sort of realism.

That’s it! see you guys next week, click below to wishlist if you haven’t yet.

(the more wishlists, the more success my game will have on release)
